Bio ///
Grant Gill (b. 1990) is a Milwaukee-based artist and educator. His work derives from an affinity to magic as a queered perspective, and he displays this through photographic images.
Gill received an MFA in Studio Art from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati and a BFA in Photography from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally at institutions including The Alice Wilds, Contemporary Arts Center Cincinnati, Filter Space, The Neon Heater, Osnova Gallery, and SÍM Gallery. Gill was a previous recipient of the Mary L. Nohl Suitcase Export Fund and the gener8tor Art x Sherman Phoenix fellowship, and has been a recognized finalist for the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowship, NöStudios fellowship, and 2023 Critical Mass. He is a current recipient of the Ruth Arts + MIAD Grant.
Gill co-curates for both Usable Space Gallery and Perspectives Gallery MIAD. In 2023, Gill founded Blanket Editions, a project that facilitates small runs of artwork reproduced onto jacquard woven blankets; the project supports Milwaukee artists and shelters. The project is currently in its second series.
